Fit
The right place
I am not shopping for every open ticket. I want a company and team where the work is real, expectations are clear, and mutual trust can form.
I am John Adams — electronics foundation from BE/E (1988), decades in construction, and a self-employed handyman since 2009, with deep Linux and networking practice. I am pursuing remote AWS CloudOps, Cloud Engineer, and Solutions Architect path roles — and I care about fit: a team and company where I can contribute, learn, and stay.
The right company matters as much as the title. Remote CloudOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Solutions Architect path work where AWS is daily practice — on a team I can grow with long term.

Direction
Skill Builder Technical Essentials Parts 1 and 2 completed. MFA on root and PowerUser. Hands-on projects next; they appear on this site as they ship.
Strength
Linux, field networking, client IT as a trusted handyman power user, AllStar/Asterisk, Qubes dual-boot era — troubleshooting is the through-line.
Linux path: Red Hat 5 → 7.1 → 7.2 → “M” distro (possibly Mandrake) → Debian → Ubuntu. Still Debian-first, Ubuntu sometimes; many distros tried (Slackware affinity, Gentoo experiments). Early-90s roots: Commodore 64, Atari, Apple IIe.
CompTIA Network+ (May 2009). Ethernet, structured cabling, two Starlink installs, and practical internet/network help for clients who already trust me.
VirtualBox for creating and configuring VMs when needed. Around 2022–2023, dual-booted Qubes OS and Windows 11 for about a year — compartmentalized, security-minded daily use.
About two years of focused study and practice: prompt and context engineering, Stanford STORM workflows, Grok and modern agent tooling — applied to real work.
Self-employed handyman since 2009; construction off and on for ~35 years; BE/E in 1988 as first formal electronics training. Show up, troubleshoot, finish.
LinkedIn is the handshake. This site holds the full chronological record — deeper than a résumé, and open to growth as new work lands.
If you think there might be a good fit, write. Email or LinkedIn. Remote only preferred. Full-time, part-time, or temporary.
